Starting at St Bees Head
 the route leads you into the wonderful Lake District National Park with its series of beautiful lakes and mountains.

The path continues east into the Yorkshire Dales National Park with more delightful countryside to enjoy.
The final stretch takes you through the splendid moorland scenery of the 
North Yorkshire Moors National Park and then along the North Yorkshire coast to the finish point at the fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay.

The Cleveland Way National Trail is a 109 mile (175 km) walking route through beautiful and ever-changing landscapes and scenery. Officially opened on 24th May 1969, it was the second recognised National Trail in England and Wales.

Starting from the attractive market town of Helmsley, the Cleveland Way heads across the inspirational, and breath-taking heather moorland of the North Yorkshire Moors, before reaching the coast at Saltburn-by-the-Sea. From here it’s a visual feast along the North Yorkshire coastline to Filey, passing old fishing villages and lively coastal towns.

The National Trail runs through the famous smuggler’s village of Robin Hood’s Bay and the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough and Whitby – one of England’s best coastal towns and home to Whitby Abbey, the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Steeped in history and traversing spectacular landscapes, the iconic Pennine Way stretches for 268 miles  across England’s wild northern uplands.

The route follows Britain’s rocky spine from the hills of the Derbyshire Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales, through the stunning Swaledale Valley, across the North Pennines and over Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland to the Cheviot Hills, ending in the Scottish Borders in Kirk Yetholm.  With a combined ascent that exceeds the height of Mount Everest, the Pennine Way is arguably the most challenging  National Trail in England and the route is recommended for experienced walkers who want a unique experience – but you don’t have to walk it all at once.
